Many many years ago I had a bonnet catch fail at 70mph plus and it let the hood shoot up. The wind pressure bent the bonnet in half. Very scary.
Ditto, except the catch didn't fail, Halfords who had done a shoddy repair job on the car didn't secure the bonnet properly afterwards. Cue bonnet smashing into the windscreen at 70mph on a dual carriageway and a desperate attempt to pull over while trying to see through a 4 inch gap in the windscreen.
