I expect Richard Armitage will be busy in New Zealand filming The Hobbit over the next two years! Love it if he were on though.
I would love to see him in this too but not sure if it would be allowed - even if he were available - since he is a professionally trained dancer and holds dance teaching qualifications.
Andrew Buchan.
(Though he's attended a salsa school in Ecuador, so it would give him an advantage in at least one dance. Which I would pay good money to see. )
Michelle Keegan (a partner for Darren Bennett!)
Frankie Sandford
Kelly Rowland
Jo Joyner
Nigella Lawson
Dawn French
Twiggy
Tom Daley (a partner for Lilia Kopylova!)
Lewis Hamilton (a partner for Kristina Rihanoff!)
Steve Jones
Richard Hammond
Colin Salmon
Teddy Sherringham
Tony Cowell
Julia Sawalha of Lark Rise to Candleford could be quite interesting! Could be available now that the LRTC series have finished - she should be free for the late summer/autumn training and broadcasts.
Partnered by Anton or Vincent - a sure winner!!

I haven't worked out heights so it could be there are too many of the same height!

I like the idea of Dale, Gina, Sanjeev & Keisha.
Keisha & Vincent?!
Tell you someone else I could see doing it Jodie Prenger- she has been on ITT as fan of the show- she is about 5ft 6 - so what about Jodie with James or Anton
And Paul Collingwood has just retired from test cricket after being part of the Ashes side- he could be a possible

I'd love Jodie to do it and I think she is the kind of star BBC would like. Jodie & Anton would be hysterical!
Keeley Hawes - trouble is she seems to be in dramas on TV a lot so maybe no time even if she wants to
Athlete - difficult as 2012 is coming up - so got to be someone retired - how about another swimmer to see if can do better than Mark Foster - maybe Duncan Goodhew?
By the way, I think it's unlikely than any of the people tied to ITV / Channel 4 / Five would be available. We are going to have the usual formula: (EastEnders, Newsreader, retired sportsman, clapped out politician / comedian) x 2
At some point they need to look at the people who did DOI and did well but proved too tall to do everything needed or those who able to do everything well but the skating bit. That would include people like Zoe Salmon, Sharon Davies, Nadia Sawalha, Gemma Bissix............some of them would do better with a BBC audience that knew them too. DOI might also gain from looking at Louisa Lytton or Rachel Stevens who both have the build to do well on ice.
It’s January 2011, the show is over and we should really all get a life for the next nine months, but it's a boring mid-January day and I’ve got nothing better to do so here’s my wish list, revamped from another thread, including two joke entries - the show needs them ! I’ve looked at the respective heights and they mostly match up fairly well. Only one snag - I’ve seen most of the women dance and there are probably too many good female dancers in the mix.
Ideally I think that to work well the show needs roughly four very good dancers, as there were in 2010, half a dozen average ones, and four poor ones who go out fairly quickly so that the better ones do at least stay in for a few weeks. In some ways I would like to see the competition run on a league basis for the first ten weeks or because I get really disappointed when good dancers go out to soon so that we can’t see them progress.
Wish List 2011
Women
K.T Tunstall/ Robin Windsor
Maria Filippov/Artem Chigvintsev
Kirsty Wark/James Jordan
Keira Knightley/Mathew Cutler
Jessica Ennis/Vincent Simone
Dita von Teese/Brendan Cole
Miranda Hart/Ian Waite
(Joke act)
1 singer, 1 ice skater, 1 er stripper, 1 sportsman 1 comedian, 1 actor, 1 news presenter, a good mix I think
Sue Menhenick (Legs and Co.) was my pin up in the 1970s. It would be quite interesting to see how the middle aged version of her coped with “proper” dancing, although she might be regarded as being over-qualified
Men
Rupert Penry Jones/Natalie Lowe
Jonny Wilkinson/ Lilia Kopylova
Tim Henman/Flavia Cacace
Robert Webb/Katya Virshilas
Jake Shears/Ola Jordan
Paul Collingwood/Kristina Rihanoff
Rufus Hound/Aliona Vilani
(Joke act)
3 sportsmen, 1 actor, 2 comedians and 1 singer
Lee John (ex Imagination) would be interesting. He was a lovely mover when the band were having hits in the 1980s, I bet he would make a great dancer.
For details of a possible (almost certain?) male celeb in 2011, read the last sentence of that article.
Though it could just be quoting gossip from their own paper whereas she does seem to have been lined up. It does show that preparations are taking place well in advance and not just obvious names.

John Barrowman and Janice Dickinson to replace Bruce and Tess.

The viewing figures would go up, and that's the bottom line.
Brian Conley, Chris Packham, Jonathan Edwards, Angela Griffin & Keisha Buchanan,
I meant Vanessa Feltz.:o

Looks like the best series to date!
& Dickie Madeley said he'd do it if asked. As did Matthew Wright,
He could wear a nice cardigan for the Paso.
I'd also like Sue Perkins, Giles Coren ('cept he wouldn't do it ) and Matthew Pinsent.
Or in keeping with the theme of Antiques- Tim Wonnacott from Bargain Hunt.
