I look terrible with facial hair, though I do tend to carry a bit of stubble, but that's more to do with laziness on my part rather than thinking it looks good.
Seeing as my Husband's had one for about 20 years I'd better go with the beard....though now and then he gets bored, shaves it off and goes without for a couple of weeks...He looks like he has a fat neck without one though...well, when I say looks like what I really mean is that his fat neck is more noticeable.
Most men look better with stubble of some description.
A large chunk of men look excellent with a proper beard, if they can grow one and have it properly looked after (just like few people would cut their own hair.... get a proper barber to trim it).
Few men look anything but sinister or ridiculous with a goatee.
If your best feature is your chiselled jaw-line, it's probably a mistake to hide it.
It entirely depends on what sort of head you have.

If your head is very round, then a beard is often a good way of giving it proper dimensions (ie all beards need to have a definitive neckline, which can help those with little distinction between head and neck...... never have a neck beard! Virtually no-one suits a neck beard!)

I tend to associate neck beards with University professors

Of course you could always grow a moustache, which are a no no in the UK for some reason.
They don't appear to be in fashion in NI, so I am bucking the trend
Most men look better clean shaven but some men 'need' it.
You must love Chuck Norris
Swoon.
Are they really?
Yum. I will be v sorry when they go out of fashion again, I'm loving it. V sexy.
Stubble - no.
Also, older men look younger with beards, I think. A beard can hide a multitude of sins.
And younger men look older with beards
Think Brendan Fraser in The Mummy. Compare his look in the prison to how he looks the next morning before boarding the ship.
I agree with that, and I'm not sure older men do look younger with beards either. I think Peter Capaldi looks older with his.

A very round fat head?
Obviously they are! Even more so than they were in the 70s.
When they do period films in 2080, all the men in the 2010s will have beards.
I can't say I've noticed this upsurge in beard growth. I see no more or less men with beards than before.
He looks like Jesus.
This is much better imo.

I think Ryan is one of those few men who look better with facial hair but not too much. I actually like his fashion sense more than his looks.

Therefore I have a beard about 95% of the time. If I'm gonna look awful I may as well go the lazy way of looking awful!
I shave, on average, once every 6-7 weeks.
Are you over 45? The universities these days are balls-deep in beards, as are most of the young creative industries.
Thankfully not. I'm in my 20s.
