Voodoo Child - The Jimi Hendrix Experience

For my wife it would have been the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards with Amazing Grace.

My daughter's had You See the Trouble With Me by Black Legend and Michael Andrews & Gary Jules with Mad World.

A narrow escape for my second daughter because a couple of days earlier and she would have had Ozzy & Kelly Osbourne with Changes.

I was about to say that was the one big pop hit I could remember that concerned suicide-but then I started remembering quite a few others: MASH-Theme from M.A.S.H; Elton John-Candle In The Wind; Hot Chocolate-Emily; Brotherhood of Man-Angelo; Boomtown Rats-Diamond Smiles.[/QUOTE

Seasons In the Sun wasnt about suicide

Hi there, Coffin-Dodger. Not pegged it yet then? Must be using half the output of Sellafield to keep you ticking over.

Art Garfunkel is a man, and one half of Simon & Garfunkel.

Bright Eyes was (as Alan Partridge described it) "moving rabbit classic", from animated film Watership Down.

    Happy birthday. :D

As a semi retired teacher, I've missed the advertisement featuring 'School's Out'. I haven't seen it this year. :(

(generally enjoying this thread but it's making me feel SOOOO old. I've got socks and shoes older than some of you lot!!! )

Me too mildred. Cotton Eye Joe was either the number one before or just after Celine Dion's "Think Twice"... and I was about 26 then!
