Beard washing/cleansing

Message for guys with beards.

How do you clean/wash your beard?
Do you just use a normal face wash or soap and leave it at that or do you use a beard-specific wash?

My beard is nice and full now but can often feel a bit dry and wire-y. I'm wondering if is should shampoo and condition it.

Any tips?
