Auction sales. Great fun . Usually advertised in local papers and viewing a day before the sale. Lovely pictures go for pennies. Be warned auctions are quite addictive.

    An excellent suggestion.

My local hospice shop has dozens of paintings/prints on sale for £3 or less - in many cases the frames alone would cost considerably more that £10.

Would that be the Ikea which was mentioned in the opening post or do you have another one in mind?

Another vote for The Range. I popped into my local store yesterday and the place is full of various art prints (and loads of modern house chintz, seems like they've found what sells, anyway :D)

If you are into retro you could buy some original 60s wallpaper and frame that.

I'm an amateur artist I painted all my own pictures - but have seen quite a few by other amateur works in charity shops and car-boot sales - some are very good and reasonably priced.

The Range, Dunelm Mill and Wilko are all surprisingly good for reasonably priced pictures :)

Why not buy some real art instead of mass produced rubbish? There are plenty of talented artists around.

Definitely charity shops. You get a nice frame too for about £6.99. There was a lovely framed artwork in one of my local charity shops yesterday of a serene scene of a boat on a lake. It was gorgeous and only £6.50. Also Ebay have original artworks. Or my OH can paint you one.
