The X Factor D-I-S-C-O WEEK 17/11/07: Tonight from 6.40PM on ITV1

Hi guys! :) A shiny thread here for tonight's extravaganza.

Show timings
Performances, 6.40-8.10pm, ITV1
Xtra Factor, 8.10-8.55pm, ITV2
Results, 8.55-9.40pm, ITV1
Xtra Factor Results, 9.40-10.30pm, ITV2

Song choices
Rhydian - 'Go West' (made famous by Village People)
Leon - 'Relight My Fire' (Take That)
Alisha - 'Young Hearts Run Free' (Candi Staton)
Beverley - 'I'm Every Woman' (Chaka Khan)
Niki - 'Hot Stuff' (Donna Summer)
Same Difference - 'Feels Like I'm In Love' (Kelly Marie)
Hope - 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)' (Abba)

:) What I like about this series is you just have no idea who is safe. It could be anyone tonight (OK, maybe not Rhydderz :D) Niki is possibly in danger.

cyin as i'm not in sat night nights i'm going to comment i think SD could be in danger not because they won't perform well cos they always give 100%, but because their main target audience is kids and kids arn't going to know this song, so will they pick up the phone and vote?

Oh pants, why do they start it so early this series? Or was it always this early but it was never a problem for me before?

6.40 is slap bang in the middle of bedtime for my 4 year old.

Hopefully Rhydian will be on later.

The 7 year old in my house (the one who likes SD) doesn't get near the phone. There are others who are of 'voting age' who are supporting Hansel and Gretel.

    I've noticed this. Last year it was on later mostly, wasn't it, or is that just me? Felt like gone 7 for the start of it. I would have done tonight's schedule like this;

    6.40 All Star Family Fortunes
    7.25 The X Factor
    8.55 I'm a Celebrity
    9.55 The X Factor Results

    That would do for me!

Relight My Fire is a Dan Hartman Disco classic. Take That's version is a cover.

Leon - 'Relight My Fire' (Take That)

[PEDANT MODE]The Take That version was a cover. The original was disco maestro Dan Hartman (featuring Loletta Holloway) :) [/PEDANT MODE]

What i love about this series is - you can never predict who will leave. I have a feeling Nikki, Leon, Hope and Alisha could all be in danger tonight.

I wouldn't be. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it yet (if they have then I've missed it), but the lyrics are inappropriate. There's only two verses really, and the second they'd have to either skip or change the words to:

My head is in a spin
My feet don't touch the ground
    Because you're near to me
My head goes round and round
    My knees are shakin' baby
My heart it beats like a drum

    It feels like
It feels like I'm in love

    Ain't been this way before
But I know I'm turned on
    It's time for something baby
    I can't turn off

    My knees are shakin' baby
My heart it beats like a drum

    It feels like
It feels like I'm in love
    My knees shake
My heart beats like a drum

    It feels like
It feels like I'm in love
    My knees shake
My heart beats like a drum

    Ooh baby
    Ooh baby
    Ooh baby

My head is in a spin
My feet don't touch the ground
    Because you're near to me
My head goes round and round
    My knees are shakin' baby
My heart it beats like a drum
    It feels like
It feels like I'm in love
    My knees shake
My heart beats like a drum

    Ooh baby
    Ooh baby

    Ooh baby
    Ooh baby

Still trying to figure out who's going to be on roller skates!? :) My best guess is one of Hype (my new name for them :p) because it might tie in with the Madonna vid sampling Abba (very tenuous link I know), but I can't imagine it would be Niki, Bev or Rhyd - and Leon gets nervous enough as it is!

Do we know if any of the contestants won junior roller-skating trophies? ;)

I think its the dancers in Leon's act that have rollerskates, rather than Leon himself (I hope so for his sake!).:D

Guess that means Sean might be in a cardie AGAIN then! Sometimes I wish Simon would let these two dress a little bit older / more up-to-date (especially Sarah)...
