A storyline that I have always wanted to see in a soap is one of either swinging or wife swapping. Not because I'm a pervert but because it is the sort of thing that may well happen in any residential area without many people being aware of it which would suit the dynamic of Corrie or EE. Rapes, murders, tram crashes are all soap headline grabbers but they aren't that common in quiet, residential streets. Imagine the intrigue with wife swapping or swinging in your own street. It would quite a taboo subject but much more realistic than a lot of the things that happen in soaps. Trouble is, the writers of these soaps would never be able to do it intelligently enough for it to be successful. They would, of course, concentrate on the cheap, tacky aspects of it rather than the reasons why it might happen in the first place and the potential effect it might have on a community.

Sounds good. Pat used to take part in swinging although it was never made clear with which husband she did it with. Knowing Pat it was probably someone elses husband!
