This weekend ive seen Madagascar 3, Sinister and Skyfall.
Of the three Madagascar was my favourite!
Sinister was ok but i watched half of it from behind my scarf as it was making me jump would have preferred it to be more like a serial killer film rather than boogie man type horror though.
Skyfall i thought was nowhere near as good as i expected, the acting was ok but the storyline was poor almost like it was forgotten they could have delved more into the missing info and the repurcussions i thought and the OTT fight scenes i know we have to suspend belief sometimes but come on thousands of bullets shot and he gets hit in the shoulder found it all a bit strike back to be honest!
Children's Film Foundatiom production features four kids trying to recover a bed accidentally sold as scrap metal. The scene where they wheel it over Tower Bridge is especially memorable. Frazer Hines is one of the kids and Wilfrid Brambell has a guest spot as a tramp.
Orphan boy escapes nuns and heads for Istanbul to watch his beloved Liverpool in the 2005 Champions League final. Daft stuff with an unnecessary diversion to Bosnia along the way. Messrs. Dalglish, Carragher & Gerrard put in an appearance at the end.
Tonight's movie was Shuttle - a very good, thriller/chiller with a fair share of blood! 8/10
i love the ending where
shes in that crate box, with those photos, a lighter, and summat else..Then we see the camera pan out and the crate is being lifted to the other boxes and they dump her and leave her there
..I didnt expect that ..have it on dvd and will watch it again soon
Change of plan for my Halloween viewing, as Triangle seems lost in the post (forever?).
The Stone Tape
Famous 70s BBC/Nigel Kneale SF chiller. Hotshot science team uncover sinister forces in haunted mansion. Dated in almost every aspect, and little overstretched, but its weird, ringing atmosphere makes for some uncomfortable drama, and a few shocks. 7/10
The Evil Dead
Time certainly hasn't been kind here as well. You can still admire the ambition, and even some of the technique, but the all round shoddiness is now off-putting rather than endearing. The (few) subtler moments still work, so it's a shame the avalanche of awful, hokey FX soon cancels them out. It would not be impossible for the remake to be better, tbh. 5/10

Also last friday Tower Heist. Given the fact I find plots about insurance scams hugely boring I quite enjoyed it so I give it 8/10.

Orphan (2009)
7/10
Saved it for Halloween and it was worth the wait.
Stylish, old-fashioned (in a good way) spine-chiller. I jumped several times. ☠
I think i'm gonna watch that in a bit.
Last film I watched was Annie Hall. I thought it was pretty funny. (7/10).

Absolutely brilliant but a shame about the end.

Mediocre and predictable but OK for halloween night filler.
I'll try and catch the original at some point.

One of those Children's Film Foundation films where a bunch of kids help catch a gang of crooks with slapstick humour their biggest weapon.
Starring Willem Dafoe. Surprised how much I liked it.
