Am I the only one who believed Brian didn't know who Shakespeare was?

I am in a minority of one so far as I can see. I can understand the reasons which people are giving for their disbelief, but I believed him- on first hearing at least.

    I think you are.

There is no way he can't have even heard of Shakespeare at school, especially when he's only 19 and it won't have been long ago.

He sounds genuinely and completely clueless, about many things. I din't think he was lying.

He's either really as thick as two short planks, and uneducated, or putting on a really great act...

Everyone does Shakespeare at school. There's no way he was genuine.

I understand that it's pretty hard to believe- for all the reasons people have given. It just had the ring of truth to me, and I have no axe to grind whatsoever.

this is the thing isn't it. when something like this happens people all too quickly label it as fake and then because of that dislike someone for the rest of the series, this might sound wrong, but i think it's true. in this case i think that what he said is hard to believe though

    I believed him.

I believe everything Brian says as he's not intelligent enough to lie.

He was most probably down at Lakeside shopping the day Shakespeare was discussed.

    He's a cutey. I like him.

I believed it, and will continue to until proved otherwise. I don't believe he is that good an actor to pull of that level of ignorance.

I don't dislike the bloke, though.

Yes I'm with you here. It's hard to dislike him, he just seems so genuine.

I wouldn't hate him just because I don't believe him about this.

However, I do think it's sad that people try to endear themselves to the general public by trying to appear more stupid than they are. And it always seems to work, what does that say about the intelligence of the public. :p

He was however intelligent enough to win a place at university. Quite a feat.

i agree, i was thinking that myself, as if he were pretending to be that stupid, there would be a pause where he thinks of something to say

You don't have to have gone to RADA to act a bit thick.
