Best way to save money with Sky
I've been with Sky for donkeys years, had the full package (whatever it was called then) except for Sky Sports and added Sky+, HD, Sky Talk and then ended up with Sky broadband following their takeover of O2 (BE). I pay around £85/month ! I know that new customers get some good deals, I've tried asking them how I can make savings but they weren't very forthcoming. I've heard of people cancelling their subscription and then renewing under another name and getting the new customer discounts. Is this easy to do ?

Cancelling Sky and having a partner sign up as a new customer to get the new customer deals is something I know people have been doing successfully.
I'd also suggest getting your phone and broadband away from Sky if you can get it for close to the same price elsewhere on a deal. If Sky has your phone line, your broadband and your TV package, they know you're less likely to want to leave because of all the hassle it creates for you. This limits the offers retentions will typically give you when you threaten to cancel. This is the attraction of the so-called Triple Play to companies like Sky.
Maybe you dont miss what you never had, but you might miss it if you no longer have it.
