Professional 'reality show' employees/participants.

I have noticed on more and more reality shows, both in the UK and the US, those who appear in one, crop up again in another. Hardcore Pawn has a manager called Rich, he of the mohawk and goatee. A new series, Money Meltdown, also has Rich on it as a contestant. He describes himself as an "urban transplanter." Does that mean he doesn't work at Gold and Silver Pawn anymore? If he ever did.
Same thing happened with Peter Radcliffe, on Four Rooms (UK). He first appeared as a seller, and he is now one of the dealers.
