Skype sound issue

Using W7 Ultimate with Slimbrowser or IE9. I have Skype alert set to Ringtone Classic. However when someone calls me on Skype I hear both the classic and the modern ringtones at the same time. I click on the contact to chat but the modern ringtone continues in the background for about one minute. I discovered that if I sign out of my browser, the ringtone stops immediately and if someone calls me I hear only the classic ringtone which is my default.


I have checked everything I can think of but this issue is not really frustrating. Can anyone please help or advise?

    Are you logged into any Microsoft services via your browser (Outlook etc.) MS recently announced tighter integration with Outlook.com - so if you have a Live/hotmail/MSN e-mail it is possible that the Skype call is triggering the in-browser-window option for Skype.

    I have no idea if this is the issue or not - just the first thing that came into my head.

    Yes, I use Live so will take a closer look. Thank you for the tip. :)
