As regards The Voice, the BBC have commissioned it for another two series. It might not have hit the heights TXF did in its heyday, but an average of 8 million is still very good and being on in the first three months of the year helped BBC One, after a nightmarish start to last year.
look at the barb ratings and see how high the soaps rate and i don't mean over the world cup, i mean in general. also the tv networks are extremely lazy, they are not going to take their soaps out of prime time, if itv did that they would be left with what ???????
i am so glad you are not a channel controller. the schedule above sucks.:D
The One Show would be gone from Primetime faster than the soaps.
Massive for Brazil v Chile yesterday in the 4:30pm slot! Propped up the rest of the schedule against the Columbia v Uruguay match too. BBC News has a big rating, normally much lower on a Saturday. Even AQOS:SS almost hit 4m after it suffered last week! After that it dropped back to normal figures though. But overall good night for BBC One.

Helped obviously by the penalties but no doubt the BBC were right to go for the earlier game. Stunning peak. The later 9pm starts for the other games make them just that bit less accessible, but there is no doubt the World Cup is a tremendous boost for both BBC and ITV.
So the average for the BBC's teatime K/O Brazil v Chile was 1.6M ahead of ITV's peak for Colombia v Uruguay in prime?
After day one the Ratings Thread consensus that the BBC picked poorly is looking a very ropey theory indeed. And so much for Colombia v Uruguay being a great pick.

Probably it will be swings and roundabouts though. The BBC not having a game today still looks like a bad decision although the group stage picks certainly worked better for BBC than it looked like they would at the start.
Amazing peak for the football, how did it rate 12+ million viewers? I caught the penalties live on my phone - just before then iPlayer was timing out....so couldn't watch any actual football. It would be great to see a breakdown of the broadcast.
Not bad for the ITV game, but maybe casual viewers figured it would not be very interesting without Suarez or any superstars (Rodriguez is gonna be one soon)

More people watched A Question Of Sport Super Saturday! Speechless! I think that rating is higher than for regular show.

Cracking peak for the football. Also Question Of Sport got a bit of a boost as well. Do you have anything for Casulty D.M.N?

It wasn't on. Brilliant for the Brazil game last night!
Huh I could have swore I recorded it yesterday. You sure your not getting mixed up with last weekend when it was on Sunday?
They moved Casualty to tonight because of the football over run.
Are right so I guess I didn't record it then. Oh well even better I get to watch it live now.

Yes, it did.
2.07m (10.1%) according to DS exc +1.
Are these repeats?
I would put that as less appealing then Question of sport now. Question of sport wasn't really very good TV either.

New according to Radio Times (it even got a Choice). Lowest ever for a new episode of The Cube?
