Earlier in the series all the judges were asked to write down their top 3- Mariah was the only judge to include Candice in her top 3. The other 3 judges should be embarrassed.
Great result. I can't imagine why Candice didn't get through to the finals the first two times she auditioned. This time round, certainly, she stood out as the obvious winner right from the first auditions.

Hi guys, stayed away in case someone was saying who won before I saw it happen.
I'm so pleased Candice won as I rooted for her from the beginning, but I don't think she believed she could win. That last song of hers was awful, but she's forgiven as few sing well after winning, and when one is crying. I got emotional when those streamers were coming down.Must add that it was a good show tonight, as was last night too.
Well done to Kree, who appears to be a nice person.
Here we go, late to the party as usual...
Enjoyed The Band Perry with the lovely Janelle.
The boys were, well, okay as was Frankie Valli
Mariah, why oh why
Amber and Emilie Sande, very nice. Amber sure is fit, and may become known more for her looks than her voice.
Candice sings with Jennifer Hudson, who sort of looked like Candice when she was on Idol a few years back.
Angie and Adam Lambert... and then Jessie J! I think Angie could be huge.
Kree with Keith and Randy. That was good, these guys sure can play!
Awww, Randawg's going. He'll be missed, but no-one is indispensable.
I love Aretha, but that video thing didn't work.
J-Lo and (inevitably) a rapper guy >>>FF>>>
Candice and Kree... not just great singers, but lovely people too. They've made it a really nice series, and the great American public got the winner right.
I really don't get all the praise that Candice is getting. Sure she has a good voice but there simply isn't any charachter or heart in any of her performance. If you are going to slow everything down a fair few notches from the originals (even when its a ballad) you have to connect fully with the song and understand and believe every single word you are singing to pull the audience in and it rarely felt that way. Based on the season as a whole her place in life was supoosed to be as a lounge singer or backing singer as she just doesn't have that star quality. There are plenty of people out there with really good voices but having a really good voice alone has never been enough even when it was radio not TV driving things. Having a distinctive voice but which techidally is only passable is and always has been more important than having a good vice that's technically great BUT which is a little bland
Not that Kree deserved to win mind you, she had been phoning it in for weeks and didnt seem to be fighting to win. I don't know why she suddenly seemed to have her performances fall, off a cliff but for some reason they did
I thoroughly enjoyed the Candice and Jennifer Hudson duet. However, I thought Candice completely paled in comparison to the unbelievable Jennifer - a good, old-fashioned belter.
Thrilled with the result and so happy for Candice - I don't think she could quite believe it
I was half expecting America to go down the traditional country singer route and vote for Kree as it has done in previous Idols but was very pleasantly surprised. Mind you Candice outperformed Kree in the final by a country mile (if you pardon the expression ) and I'm glad this was recognised!
What I've liked about this series is over the weeks that you couldn't really call the winner between Kree, Candice and Angie. Amber was great too but she obviously wasn't getting as much public support.
Will miss Randy - he's been there since the beginning. Hope Keith Urban comes back next year - really cool guy, not to mention easy on the eye and I love his enthusiasm. Nicki Menaj has been very funny with all her eccentricities
I thought any of the top 3 were worthy winners this year. On the night of the finale there was no doubt Candice should've won it, but there's something about Kree that I've really warmed to and I hope she has massive success. Of the two winners singles I preferred Kree's but thought Candice was better in the other two rounds.
Angie performing with Adam and Jessie J was amazing and probably the highlight of the night - I get the feeling the producers would have been happiest if Angie had won as I think she's going to be very successful. Would have been good to hear her single again. I love Emeli sande and thought Amber sang Next to Me better than Candice did last week I thought Candice's voice sounded a lot nicer than Jennifer Hudson's during their duet.
Overall I thought it was a pretty good show.
It's going to be strange with Randy leaving, I don't see Mariah or Nicki sticking around either.
Is there any chance Randy's leaving for x factor usa - Simon tweeted earlier that the line up would be announced on Monday!

The difference between Candace and Jennifer Hudson is that Jennifer is several years on in experience over Candace. I felt Jennifer did not give Candace an inch so she had to perform to her utmost but ultimately Jennifer then gave Candace the chance to show her best, a hard but stretching experience which Candace did not shirk or fail.
I watch AI all the time and didnt really care for Jennifer initially until she was in Dreamgirls and excelled so lets give Candace the chance to do the same.I have rooted for Candace since the I Who Have Nothing week, I think she is awesome.
I felt Kree tailed off after a few weeks, she seemed diminished, tired out with the whole experience but will do well, I am sure as the runners up all have brilliant careers due to the exposure on AI,
Loved the Aretha bit, I have a bad back but couldnt sit still for a moment, JLo seemed second best to Beyonce now but a brilliant show but I admit to watching later on and fast forwarded the bits I didnt like, did Nicky not have a place in the final, it was all she could do to put her hands together.

kree will be big on the country scene but shes not as good as carrie underwood so cant see her doing as well
not sure about candice, shes the best out of the 3, emotes brilliantly, has a lovely voice but her style just doesnt seem current.
well done america, right result. all of the top 3 should have excellent careers from this.
so pleased for her, thats real emotion, well done candice.
as for US iTunes:
Candice is #10
Kree is #29
Candice had to win ..she was simply the best!
Mariah Carey's miming was just awful.
Aretha and Frankie were fabulous ..good to see Keith enthusiasm watching them...he's like your ordinary fan.

Will be back for next AI though.
Thanks for thread. xxx
Give her a chance, fresh off the block as it were, but she will get style guidance etc, and should do rather well. ,

Some people accusing Mariah of lipping, she didn't, she sang live. Her performance was just dubbed that's all, Keith's too.
