..as the one in the last episode was a disappointment.
Mine are
1) David Tennant
2) Alan Rickman (if he was 20 years younger)
3) anyone other than Andrew Scott
I`m not saying mine are any good.. I`m not an expert at modern day youngish Brittish actors.

It's early days in the series, maybe Scott will be fine having said that Tennant would be ok but i'm not ready to see him back on the box yet, no to Alan Rickman, against this Sherlock anyway.
How about Paul Rhys.
I think I would have preferred a less campy and certainly an octave lower performance from Andrew Scott but hey - perhaps he's not the real Moriarty at all!
Anyway, in response to the thread I would have cast one of the following:
David Harewood - just about young enough to be a contemporary of Sherlock but with a bit of menace and gravitas
Matthew Macfadyen - he can play very cold characters indeed
David Morrissey
Good suggestions, either of those would be great.
Perhaps Miranda Richardson...
I was really pleased with Andrew Scott, I just thought the script was a bit unforgiving.
He was excellent as The Master in DW before they made him blonde.
Failing that...see what kind of spin David Tennant could put on him
Remember, she never dies!:D
I trust the judgement of Moffat/Gattis far more than any of the armchair experts on this forum.
He could get in some practice for being a sat-nav voice: 'IN 400 YARDS, TURN LEFT! '
It's only a bit of fun isn't it?.....
Moriarty is an Irish name after all.
My only gripe was that you could spot who he was a mile off.
Philip Glenister.
Jonathan Cake.
Clive Owen. I like him!
Rik Mayall:cool:
To be fair, I don't think the ones suggesting Brian Blessed and Angela Lansbury were serious.
(or maybe they were? )
Poor you
Malcolm McDowell.
(to the tune of "Gordon's Alive!"
That said, Aidan Gillen would have been an interesting choice. He's Irish, and he can be quite intense and menacing.
Anthony Stewart Head, if he was younger. Although, I'm kind of biased as the final showdown reminded me of one of the scenes in Doctor Who between him and David Tennant.
Andy Sirkus, maybe.
I dunno - I never would have picked Martin Freeman for Watson, but he's doing a great job. It's hard to know unless you see someone in the role.
2 Dale Winton
3 Nobody - we never get to see him
