Yes, I'm surprised you haven't heard me banging on about that on the interweb! :D:D

Europe just wasn't ready for that amazing summer banger! :(

It was one of my favourites last year, I was so sad when Hannah didn't get through. She had a bit of a mare performance wise :(

Yeah, the less said about that the better! :o Still loved it though. Maybe song-writing is what she should stick to.

I didn't rate Straight Into Love at all last year, but it sounded fab on SBS radio. The verses particularly.

This has probably been said many times already but I feel if Molly had gone to Denmark and sung a song like one of the songs she has written and uploaded to Youtube, she would have done much better.

'Never Forget' an an absolutely beautiful song. Send shivers down my spine each time I hear it. The Darren Styles hardcore mix of it works well too. Another great song by her on YouTube is 'Beneath The Lights'. I think that both of these would've done very well in Copenhagen this year.

I rated it when I saw it live, even though the performance (some of the singing, the staging was fine I thought) wasn't perfect the strength of the song still came through for me.

I find it quite promising Children of the Universe is one of my least favourite songs of hers and yet I still liked it a great deal

Flowers by the Road and Strange Alien are pretty great also.

Yeah, I heard that a few weeks ago.

I'm happy for Hannah as she was absolutely devastated when she failed to qualify last year.

Oh  I thought I was well amazing for finding it :D:D

Yeah, she had an awful live performance but in no way deserved last :(

    Both songs have official videos.

    Austria: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToqNa0rqUtY
    The Netherlands: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkrF8uC92O4

Yeah I know, that was what I was saying, sorry my earlier comment was unclear.
The woman on mtv said they couldn't play those songs because there were no official videos

Power to the people, children of the universe blablabla, it's a bit like the person at a party who comes across as too desperate to impress to get with a guy/girl, it turns people off.
I also don't think Molly quite has the charisma/stage presence to pull off something too dramatic, she's a good singer but not sure how much of a performer she is..

A song can stand out by trying to be good, rather than trying to stand out if you get what I mean

I've actually only listened to Never Forget and Lost Generation now and I have to say, I liked them instantly which Children of the Universe didn't do with me. It was more of a grower and unfortunately since she only got to perform it once, that wasn't gonna work as well.

I personally love the "Power to the people..." part of the song. But like you said, she doesn't have enough charisma to pull it off. If she entered with Never Forget and performed it like she did in that video where she showed plenty of emotions, then it could have potentially done better than COTU did. The juries would have loved it too imo more so than they did with COTU.

Do you think Georgia may be disqualified? I think they maybe made an example of and given a year ban but not 3

Georgia, Montenegro, Armenia and Azerbaijan should all be suspended for vote fixing. I think you're right though, I think they'll make an example of Georgia and ignore the rest :(

Looking at it cynically I don't think they'll ban Azerbaijan or Armenia otherwise Turkey will definitely rule out a return. Likewise, a ban for Montenegro may result in the likes of Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia against re-joining due to the cultural links.

Georgia are probably 'surplus to requirements' in that regard though I do wonder whether the EBU will really ban countries from a contest celebrating a big anniversary.

Agreed with Azerbaijan & Armenia. It's a shame, though.

I think the EBU need to put their foot down otherwise it's only going to get worse and more countries are going to get involved if they think they can get away with it.

Seen that and wondered why it was being shown then Andrew Neil popped up and I realised :D

The EBU do need to clamp down on it, but the selfish side of me doesn't want to see anyone banned for an extended length of time. I know they're the Dick Dastardly of Eurovision, but I'd really miss Azerbaijan. *ducks*

Next year I can see the juries just doing what Montenegro did. Virtually identical rankings with the occasional juror deviating from the rest and putting a song at 22 instead of 21 etc. Not sure what the EBU can do though.

I'm just listening to Lost Generation. I originally thought that it would have done well had it been entered as it's simple and beautiful but then considered how Start A Fire struggled and began to doubt myself with that one!

Get rid of juries? And modify the televote so that people can't just vote for one song endlessly?

And people talk about banning countries as if the performers (who have nothing to do with the organisation of the event) don't exist, why should they be penalised for the sake of a competition which shouldn't be taken that seriously anyway? It's meant to be a platform for musicians not for countries. Emphasise the political and you just turn it into a vicious circle where everyone treats it as political while saying you don't want it political.

So your way would be to let countries get away with cheating and to go back to the times where countries televotes would be hijacked by Diaspora's, I just don't see a way they can make the televotes fairer other than to have them 50/50 with juries
