Listening to the new song by Girls Aloud got me thinking, there's a few songs written as confidence boost songs, songs to make you feel good about yourself when everyone else wants to make you feel low. Let's see how many we can name...

Girls Aloud - Beautiful Cause You Love Me
Sugababes - Ugly
TLC - Unpretty
Lady Gaga - Born This Way
Pink - ****ing Perfect
Little Mix - Wings (kind of)

Straight guys usually listen to those hip hop songs where rappers boast about how good they are (and the listener applies the lyrics to themselves) to boost their confidence, rather than listening to songs like Born This Way and We R Who We R lol. I do agree though, music is good for that sort of thing.

For example, I think a song like Champion by Chipmunk has pretty much the same message as Born This Way does, it's just done in a more "manly" way.

It all depends on the individual

Lyrically it might not be the most inspiring or insightful but the breakdown in the Afrojack remix of Leona Lewis's Collide just really puts a spring in my step. If I've got my headphones in and that's on full blast I just feel a bit 'no one can touch me'. Its a great feeling. Hard to describe

This post is next level ridiculous tbh. Some straight guys listen to Lady Gaga, some don't listen to Chipmunk, some like both. Some gay guys listen to Chimpunk, some can't stand Gaga's music and some like both. It's almost 2013, its time we stop stereotyping, especially that badly.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/...and-worst.html Survey by Halfords reveals that Christmas tunes on the radio can affect your driving and attitude to other drivers. Mariah Carey "All I Want for Christmas" is the most irritating apparently. Best loved is Chestnuts Roasting.

I don't know many songs from the girl named Jewel, but I have heard her song named "Stronger Woman" and to me it should have gone all the way to number one.

God bless you and her always!!! :):):)

This forum has a serious problem with lack of taste. Little Mix? Out of all music acts? Really?

#1 - Who are you? The music taste dictator?

#2 - Little Mix's songs fit the theme of the thread.

    #3 - Where's your suggestion?

    :)

I think a lot of these songs are cynical and hollow tbh. Born This Way and Beautiful just try too hard.

So glad We R Who We R is getting a lot of mentions though, one of THE songs imo. It holds a lot of meaning or me.

Agree with above poster r.e Little Mix. Beyond crap!

That is a very stereotypical and sad thing to think. The music that you like isn't decided by your sexuality or gender.
