    Not true!

    The song may use elements of Monty Normans theme but the song is a new composition written specifically for this film.

    If they had written it for another film 4 years ago for example, that would make it ineligible.
    That is what happened with Come What May from Moulin Rouge - I believe the song was originally written for Romeo and Juliet.

    Considering all the pre-orders, I thought it would have debuted at #1 right across the board, especially in the UK.

    I'm not convinced the pre-orders will have been huge due to the imo older fan base Adele has compared to, say, someone like Rihanna. Apart from me, most Adele fans will still be in bed at the moment lol. Let's see where it is at the end of play today. The video is about to get its first airing on BBC Breakfast.

    It's a bit Bond Theme by Numbers isn't it??! It's OK, repetitive and easy to hum. It'll be huge because its Adele which does not mean it's a great song. Hope the film is a bit more original.

    I agree with you,the majority will buy it around the middle of the day or the end of the day.

    Slowly climbing in Australia, up to 19. it's 4:25pm here on Friday, So I'd like to think with the next 5-6hrs it'll be in the Top 10. it's been out since 9:07am AEST which is 0:07 GMT

    Typical Bond theme but not as good as the hype suggests imo. Lovely vocal though.
