Couldnt see a thread to discuss IPL so here is one. All matches are on Sky Sports so i suppose exposure in UK will be diminished. Who are the presenters? ITV4 had a great studio panel, lively, funny and informative.

Disappointed its gone to Sky, I thought ITV still had it this season.

Hope my team - Kings XI - can go one better than last year!

They are just advert breaks to earn money for the organisers/broadcasters. It was a good match today with Delhi pushing Chennai closer than it looked like they would with a couple of overs to go.

I wonder if we will see them introduced in international and domestic T20 games outside India as well.

RCB have some batting line up

Kohli and Gayle opening with AB at 4 and Darren Sammy at 5

Having said that, it looks like they may lose

A great win in the end for Bangalore with an over to spare. I'd love them to win the IPL this year. Gambir doesn't come across as the most inspirational or flexible captain for Kolkata though.

Amazing partnershipfrom Bhaji and Suchith for Mumbai

Came together at 59/6 after 13.4 overs chasing 177/5

One over to go and they have added 89 in 5.2 overs so 30 needed off the last over

Not likely to win but some terrific striking

What a strange innings from Chris Gayle

Chasing a large total of 210, he is out after scoring 10 from 24 balls:confused:

But Chris Gayle can always catch up with any innings. In fact, these days he sometimes starts off a bit slowly before moving into fifth gear.

On a slightly different topic, I must admit, IPL seems a little dodgy. There was a case last week one of teams didn't seem to make an attempt into chasing down the opposition total. I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and credit the fielding team for tight bowling. But usually in T20s you never die wandering. And last year, there was a match where one of the batters was run out after three attempts. The player didn't attempt to get in. The fielding team missed throwing down the stumps two times before getting them at the third attempt. The batter could have easily made it after the first failed attempt. It looked so dodgy.

I wouldn't be surprised if news of a lot of betting irregularity in IPL breaks in a year or two that may be currently transpiring. While international cricketers won't be involved, lot of domestic Indian players could be easy target for the betting men, not to mention the Indian cricket board seems to be full of dodgy characters.

The IPL has great potential for fixing to be honest. It's essentially an invitational muck about tournament but with massive money being bet on games I suspect especially in India.

Indian bookmakers have often been behind match fixing in the subcontinent. If they haven't approached some of the domestic level cricketers at the very least with regard to spot fixing or match fixing I'd be very surprised.

Raining in Grenada so switched over to the IPL

Fantastic catch by Faf Du Plessis

Running back at mid off and takes a stunning one hander. Magnificent

Chris Gayle looks in the mood today

    RCB 45/0 after 3 overs

He just took 20 off Mitchell Johnson, the most he has ever conceded in an over:)

    Gayle certainly in the mood

100* off 46 balls and still 6 overs to go

    11 x 6 and 5 x 4 with a S/R of 217

Kings terrible this year, same problem as last season - an ineffective bowling attack.

Last year the batting unit was on fire and could chase pretty much anything down so it didn't really matter what the bowlers did, this year it seems that nobody can get any runs!

Gayle out early so ABV steps up to the plate

    102* off 47 balls

    Still 3 overs to go

Kohli on 54* being totally overshadowed

RCB finish on 235/1 with a 2nd wicket partnership of 215*

    ABV with 133* off 59 balls with 19 x 6 and 4 x 4

Kohli finishes on 82* off 50 balls

    Wow

ETA There was also a maiden over.....
