Nice to know it's not just me!

    You're right 0...0, it's daft but I like it.

It certainly got going in the last quarter. :D

I wouldn't mind the daftness if it didn't take itself so seriously.

EDIT: I still don't think he's having an affair.

Interesting ... the 'next time' bit would suggest that he is, as Gemma's colleague (Ros?) seems to confirm that she is right in her suspicions.

I'm thinking that scene might play out with Ros (I don't know if that's her name either) saying "oh, you shouldn't let your mind play tricks on you" or words to that effect.

Considering how weird this is already, the ending might be a Dallas style "it was all a dream" ending with Gemma in a padded cell.

And now she's a poet. What total tosh

She's not a poet, it's the poem she looked up on the Internet earlier.

Watched it and enjoyed it. I'm not convinced it's an affair. I think she might be a secret daughter from an affair years ago. The woman who said she saw them kissing, we didn't see a full on snog. Doctor Foster will go into paranoid overdrive and kill one of them, only to find out it's not what she thought.

Yes, you've got a point. I kept losing track with the 'dreamy' sequences and the general weirdness.

I enjoyed it though. Have got it on series link.

5 episodes. Not sure I'll stick it out. Maybe I'll give the second ep a go and see.

Not bad, bit of a She Devil feel.

That's exactly what I thought (from watching next week's snippet). Definitely a Mary Fisher moment!

Hmm I think the girl is his secret daughter seeing as the village of the damned are all in on it!

I wonder if the story will either be about her being an outsider and everyone in the small town are crazy or.....she's the crazy one?!

Concur and the reason for that was the shallow script writing and unlikeable characters.

    I'm out.

I don't see why a whole town would conspire to keep either an affair or a secret child...well, secret from anyone.

Too contrived and unrealistic altogether in my opinion. The town seems to have more nutters per square metre than Broadmoor , and as for Googling 'cheating husband' - seriously ?

Also, *nobody* has noticed that Suranne Jones has been stomping round like a demented zombie stalker for about a week ?

A "shower of rain" (as in Doctor Foster went to Gloucester...) could be a metaphor for mental illness...perhaps? :D

Really surprised by the negativity... If I could watch Episode 2 now, I would!

She was searching for tips/signs of her husband cheating. Didn't find that odd at all?

    Quite enjoyed it -
so the restaurant woman's daughter is Simon's daughter ? and most of the locals know this ?
My bet is Gemma will not understand the real story ( whatever it is ) and will end up killing someone - then the doctor who has been suspended will reveal all to her........or summat like that
