Lingual Braces

Hi,
In a week I am going to have Lingual braces fitted in my teeth. They are the ones that are bonded to the inside of the teeth so they are invisible to others.
Has anybody worn them? Are they very uncomfortable? I am worried that they may affect my speech quite a lot (the orthodontist told me that they will but not a great deal).
I would like to read the experiences of other people who have worn them as I am getting very anxious.
