The video is hot. Rihanna has been like this for a while, so I don't know why people are surprised. It's not like she's suddenly jumped on the bandwagon like others.

I think it's a great video. I think people are overreacting about it though, this is not the first Rihanna has done something like this and did anyone expect otherwise judging by the song?

I LOVE everything about it. Her best video this era tbh. It goes well with the song, it's provocative, it's not a snoozefest a la 'Stay'. I LOVE it. Too bad it wasn't released 9 months ago when 'PIU' was smashing in the US :(

The problem is you can only get away with this kind of knowing trash if the song carries it.

    This song doesn't.

Not bothered byy the overtly sexual nature it matches the song and it's Rihanna what did you expect full burka and good behaviour i think not :p

That said the video is trash cheap, tacky, rushed and her worst since Te Amo.

The song is about strip clubs. I don't really know what people would expect. Male artists do videos like this all the time, but this forum doesn't seem to be aware of the existence of males in the music industry.

The difference is that Miley is completely unbelievable and she isn't very attractive naked. She still has a kids body. Nothing wrong with that, but it typically isn't aesthetically pleasing and will cause more objection than a body like the one in this video which is seen as more desired. Pretty much, a double standard, but that is the way of the world.

The unbelievability factor is probably the biggest part, though. I hate this term with a passion because it is usually used so flippantly, but Miley seems like a try-hard.

Love how the gender card gets played, as though no-one's allowed to express an unsatisfactory opinion on a female singer. It's practically soft porn, I mean geez first with 'Blurred Lines' then 'Wrecking Ball' soon they'll be music videos demonstrating violent and sex acts step-by-step...

Anything questionable always dressed up as 'artistic integrity, before anyone starts shouting me down either I'm not suggesting pop stars should dress like nuns and priests. Rant over

Am unfortunately all too familiar with misogyny and sexism in some hip-hop, my point was alluding to how pop videos are becoming more gratuitous since the rule change on the Hot 100.

It's gonna become a pointless competition on who can be the most controversial

Controversy gets views, but for Rihanna this is nothing new. Just wait till Bieber has his shirt off and is smacking some girls ass in a video. The Internet might explode.

To me one $5 **** acting like a shitting dog with worms is fairly indistinguishable from another and about as erotic as a road accident. For her next video why doesn't she just rip her kex off, spread her cheeks and gape at the camera for four minutes and get it over with?

Apparently 'Ri-Ri'''s respect for herself is on a par with Chris Brown's. A lazy, boring, cheap, tacky, tawdry, artless, charmless slag.

What's the point in releasing a video for a single that bombed months ago? Surely she should be concentrating on trying to make What Now a hit.
