How is Meole pronounced. I ask as there's a place called Meols Cop, Southport, pronounce 'meals' and Meols, on The Wirral, pronounced 'mells'. I know they don't have an 'e' at the end but I imagine the 'e' is significant in Meole Brace?

    It's Meal.

Which is probably a lot less controversial than the debate about how Shrewsbury is pronounced :D

Nitshill in Glasgow what an appalling and unappealing name for a town that is. Boghall in West Lothian is just as bad.

Sincere apologies if any members or guests live there.

Twice Brewed is a pub isn't it? Once Brewed is the village and also the name of a Youth Hostel.

Not a town but there's a place called Ulgham near me (pronounced Uffham)

When I lived in Dartford and used to be a keen cyclist, I often headed out that way. It was a bit of stretch though and if I'd gone too hard I'd end up getting off in Pratts Bottom.
