There needs to be more interaction between staff and customers, a bit like Open All Hours. Whilst I sort of enjoy this show, the last series was missing something and as someone who's worked in retail, the comedy that can be gained from customers has real potential.
I'm not really sure how I feel about a fourth series. The new additions in the third added nothing, in fact they made the show weaker. The departures of a majority of the main cast over the series also didn't help. I will of course still watch and see how I goes, I read that Colins gran has been cast which could be hilarious do we shall see
I don't think Jane Horrocks will be returning.
In any case, the last series wasn't a patch on season 2. Bringing in the fishmongers was definitely a bad idea, as I don't find them the least bit funny. The departure of Mark Addy was a big blow also.

Good to see Jane Horrocks and Mark Addy, are returning.
Rita May as Margaret is my favourite character.
Wonder what makes Juile return to work there.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think Jane or Mark are returning. I think they have just used a cast list based on previous stars the show
Also 20:30 start time? Guessing they have toned down some of the adult humour then?
I've just seen an advert on Sky promoting the start of the new series in a couple of weeks - which completely took me by surprise as I didn't see this thread at the time and I just naturally assumed that the show had come to an end.
It is a shame that Jane Horrocks is no longer in the show because she was a cornerstone of it for me, but on the other hand I'm delighted that Stephen Tompkinson has been drafted in because I've always been a fan of his work - and casting him as the in-store pharmacist could well be inspired.
Comments
1. they knew it was ending and left when they could.
2. They change the look and feel of the series and make it more true to life than a bunch of loons running a supermarket.
hopefully it does continue
It will be back for a 4th series it seems...
Glad though that a news series has been announced and I will watch it with interest.
Agree with your first paragraph. That was just too over the top for my liking. I'm not going to bother watching Series 4, though.

I wonder if she has replaced the two CS girls.
