I think it's a good thing the first performance will be in eurosong. It gives it more impact and ensures everyone tunes in to see what they do with it. It was the same with Lipstick last year.
Off topic but I did wonder who else the twins kept in touch with from CBB apart from Tara and turns out Bobby Sabel did tweet saying the only people he's stayed in contact with are Jedward and Tara. That's quite interesting. I never thought they'd stay in touch with the other people in the house, Amy Childs or Lucien, but they did seem to respect and like Bobby a lot. Lucien was too malleable, but Bobby defended them a lot. I'm glad they have a male friend that they can talk to sometimes.
There is a thread on the music forum about Waterline, and no-one has said anything horrible, except one poster who thinks it's the perfect song for Eurovision even though they can't stand Jedward!

Perhaps Waterline is considered a less divisive song than Lipstick? It's quite possible : Lipstick was probably the 'better' song but it was far from universally popular whereas Waterline sounds more pleasant and easy on the ear.
The photographer did a long time ago a photoshoot with John&Edward but he never posted this pic before. He promissed us that he will post a never-seen before pic of J&E when he get/got enough retweets for his tweet and this is the promissed pic.

I really liked the high-energy and in-your-face quality of Lipstick, but I could see how it might be less appealing to some people because of that. Waterline is certainly a more complex song (I'm not sure whether that's an advantage or disadvantage for ESC)
Another factor might be that Waterline is less obviously europop than Lipstick. Maybe it's a bit more in line with UK music tastes which would explain the very positive feedback on sites like this.

Which could augur well for it's chances Silverhand. As you say, it's not as instant and in your face as Lipstick, and yet paradoxically it may have wider appeal to the general Eurovision audience. Let's not forget too Lipstick received virtually nothing from eastern and southern Europe last year : if Waterline manages a better result, then we would be able to say it was an inspired decision to go for this song.
Certainly it is very radio friendly....it has a really fresh American teen pop sound.

Agreed. It was notable that last year's winner didn't actually get lots of very high marks (12s and 10s), but managed to pull in a lot of lower scores for many different regions of Europe. Lipstick's appeal, as you say, was generally confined to northern and central Europe.
"Running scared" also had quite an American teenpop quality to it. I recall someone (it might even have been the twins!) saying at the time that it had quite a 'High School Musical' feel to it. Waterline has something similar.
Aww that's great! (The positive comments in the other thread). I think people have come around to the fact that the twins are here to stay and slagging them off isn't going to make them disappear!
That picture is stunning! :)They manage to look cool, yet sweet at the same time. Anyone else notice that it's always Edward with his arm around John in photoshoots? Never the other way around? I think it's because he has a softer, gentler face and appearance, whereas John can look very serious and brooding at times.
Wow what an amazing article! I haven't heard of Lyndsey Parker before, she is the managing editor of Yahoo Music apparently and on twitter, (@lyndseyparker ), we should tweet her and thank her for her lovely article on the twins. (Edit: just done it)
It's good that she's linked to the track and presumably the blog has a wide readership who will hopefully click on it. And she thinks it could do really well!!
Well, it's something to show the (apparently) rapidly dwindling band of *dislikers* also.

I'm surprised the twins haven't thought of doing a preview video of some description for the contest.

What's going on? no rude comments? what shall be our purpose in life when we are no longer needed to defend the twins against these people
Blimey..I think I need to go and lie down a bit after reading that...how lovely to actually hear nice things being said about them
I know..I don't quite know how to react ...how strange
 You mean that people aren't hating on them?
but seriously, this is quite a nice change I'm so used to seeing them being hated on that reading those comments is lovely!
I'm sure I've seen this before ...

I need to go and have a lie down - our work here is done! OMG!
I know right - we are now officially redundant

I honestly wasn't sure this day would ever arrive. I feel strangely empty and not sure what to do with my life now.
Ha! It looks like it originally said WATERLINENE (?!) It's a very cool wall. Much more impressive than standard dressing room graffiti!
I can't believe how good that piece is! And it's an American blog as well isn't it? What's happening?
What do you think of Jedward? http://polls.j-14.com/polls/345492
Do you want to see more JEDWARD in J-14 Magazine? http://polls.j-14.com/polls/345638
