So DT has gone. Who do people want to fill the role next then?

Me Henry Ian Cusick aka Desmond from Lost. He would fit perfectly but probably has one more series of Lost to do.

But please not James Nesbitt

    Two choices for me:

    Milo Ventimiglia
    or
    Patrick Stewart

    either would be good

    :)

Or Laurence Fox - as long as he doesn't bring his missus with him. :)

Patrick Stewart would be good but I seriously doubt he would get it. My fear is they will go for a comedian to try and stick with Tennants humorous and wacky side.

Honestly dont knwo who I want myself...

Someone who's unknown to the masses. Worked with Tennant.

I'm completely shocked by this, ideally I wanted him to stay on until the end of Series 5 (but no longer).

However, on the flip side, this is the first time I've had the chance to speculate on a new Doctor! Eccleston left as soon as I was getting interested in the programme.

    David Mitchell
He's eccentric, he's witty, he's Doctorish, and he's completely different to David Tennant in every possible way. Some say he's not an actor, but then again people said that about Jon Pertwee, and look where that went! I could imagine him as a little what McCoy tried to be but didn't quite achieve.

    Philip Glenister
If there's any way to shake off the typecasting as "hard", Gene Hunt type characters, this could be it. He steals the show whenever he's on screen in Life on Mars.

    Paterson Joseph
He's funny, but someone you can easily take seriously and trust. He'd be brilliant. Perhaps a slightly less stuffy version of Jon Pertwee.

Off topic slightly, but does anyone reckon in a decade or two Colin Morgan could make a rather good Doctor?

    Russ Abbot
    No, I'm joking.

    :o Really!

That's Mac off Green Wing isn't it?

That would work for me, especially with the inevitable 'am I ginger' comment post regeneration

I think that would be a terrible piece of miscasting.

I think Julian Rhind Tutt may be good.
