Buy a new laptop ?

Hi all I have a dell laptop it's 7 years old and needs a new battery and also overheats badly if it's been on for ages and goes green and makes awful noise. Is it worth paying to have it cleaned and a new battery or would you just buy a new one . It's a dell inspiron 1564. It says that on the side. Thanks
