Help in identifying TV programme from late 70's early 80's

I know this is a bit of a vague description, but I am hoping someone will remember this programme as it has been dring me mad for years and I have had no joy from Google searches.
I remember watching a programme I think on a Sunday early evening, probably in the very late 70's and all I can remember is there was a group of children in some woods and one of the girl's in the group wearing a white dress was being particuarly annoying and gets pushed into a very muddy pond by a boy. I wish I could remember more about it, and have thought over the years maybe it was a figment of my imagination.
Does it ring any bells with anyone?

There used to be a lot of book serialisations which might fit?
