Btw, in regards to the Greg discussion. I don't understand why he seems to get some flak. Sure he's opinionated but every time he's been interviewed, he always comes across well. Especially yesterday, it was a lovely interview by him.
She isn't.
Men's 5,000m heats underway...someone (Banda of Malawi) has already gone off the front. No doubt he'll have a few minutes of fame before he's swallowed up and spat out the back.

Yes, but why? Surely he should everything he can to qualify? Which he won't by going out so soon and quickly.
Hitchon threw 71.07m in the women's hammer - not far off the auto-qualification mark of 72.50m. Might be enough for the final (Wlodarczyk and Tavernier already through).
Bit of an awkward overlapping in that race...
Blimey, Mo almost tripped again! He qualifies, anyway.
Mo was as cheerful as he has been for some time in that interview with Phil... I do think he looks around too much in races. I often think its for affect mostly. Trying to look cool and relaxed.. it really isnt necessary to look round as much as he does

Yes, I am sure he would have far more success on the track if he took your advice......;-)

No entry time, basically no hope, so he might as well get Malawi on global telly for a couple of laps.
Gebrhiwet wins the first heat in 13:45.00; fellow auto-qualifiers are True, Soi, Farrell and Merga.
unsurprisingly finished last :kitty:
although he did get a pb

Pretty quick first heat...Arzamazova and Sharp both sub 1:59. Semenya pips Lupu for 3rd.
P.S. she is hot.
Pichardo fouls in round 2, pretty big jump at that (no need now).
Very relaxed looking run by Sharp.
