Why?, I'm just curious, I'm a massive Heath fan, have been since the days of Ten Things and Roar, and his death devistated me, as it did all of us on here, and I wouldn't dream of missing this film., Heath admitted before he died that he had so much fun whilst making it.
Personal choice, I guess. It's just not for me. Enjoy the film anyway.
I can't be the only appreciative fan of Heath Ledger's who has absolutely no desire to watch The Dark Knight? I said as much the evening he died and nothing since has changed my mind. I've no intention of ever seeing it, even when it's released on DVD, and to be honest I'll be glad once the furor surrounding the film has died down.
I'm sure you're not the only one Rich234565. And there's probablt fans of Heath out ther, who've not since he passed and never will agian watched one of his films.
It's upto you as an individual
I'm not sure either whether I'll go and see it or not..(but I've bored everyone else here enough with that one)

No, I won't watch any of his films again either. I wasn't his greatest fan by any means but I find the whole thing completely depressing. I would get no enjoyment from seeing him in any role. I'd rather forget about it and move on. As you say, it's just down to the individual. It would be pretty unbearable if he won an Oscar, to be honest. But I'm sure there are many fans, bigger fans than I was, who wouldn't dream of not seeing The Dark Knight.
Anyway, I've not posted on here for months but with all The Dark Knight talk I felt it was a good time to say my bit. Fortunately I'm not in the UK so I haven't even got the temptation of seeing the film at my local multiplex

As a fan of Heaths, I cant imagine never watching one of his films ever again, they are his legacy to us now, and although I find films such as A knights tale hard to watch, they also fill me with great joy. It was astoundingly hard to watch a film at first, but as time passes i find myself thinking of him (which I still do everyday, without fail) and smiling. These past couple of weeks have been really tough, I have hidden away from the TV incase i happen to see a trailor for TDK, i dont like being taken by surprise!!!but, I am really looking forward to seeing it at the IMAX tomorrow, Heath was proud of this film, and he had great fun making it. So, I'm going to go and enjoy it, and celebrate the life of Heathcliffe Andrew Ledger.
I've seen "The Dark Knight" and it truely is an amazing Film IMO. And trust me you guys will NOT be disapointed by Heath's wonderful performance:).
I've alreay done a big fat Review in the "Movies" Thread about The Dark Knight" but it contains huge Spoliers from the Film itself so if you're like me the type who doesn't mind Spoilers then read ahead BUT if you're the type who doesn't like to be Spoiled then don't read it.
Well all I'm here to say is that Heath was brilliant IMO so believe all the hype:).
I was ridiculously excited about this film last summer after seeing the first pictures coming out and seeing the trailer for the first time just blew me away. I'd be excited about this film even if Heath wasn't in it - I loved the first couple of Batman films with Michael Keaton and thought Batman Begins was fantastic. I love films like this though, bit of a superhero and sci fi nut.
That goes for me too, nice post Rose - I'm a Batman fan & a Heath fan, so I was going to watch it whatever.:D I have dithered a lot tho (as has Hay!), but ultimately I will go see it & the hype has helped me really.

Hi Rich, that's fine & that's your choice. If you enjoyed watching Heath films before then that's a shame you don't feel like watching them again. I didn't want to shut myself off from his films after he died because I used to watch them regularly before. It's been difficult and downright upsetting at times but I now feel I can watch & enjoy all of them (apart from Ned Kelly which I just don't really like:o), which I feel is a fitting celebration of his work.:)

Thanks to both of you for your wonderful comments and taking the time out to post them here. Much appreciated.
I'll be thinking of you too FFF! xx What time does yours start? Mine's 8 - well, that'll be about 8.20 then by the time we've got through all the advertising.

I'm not exactly a fan of Heath's but I did like him very much and respected him for the great actor that he was.
I therefore won't find it hard to watch him in anything.... all brilliant performances by great thesps are very welcome to my eyes! I also like many of the films that Heath did, so will have great pleasure watching them again at some point.
I've watched all the Batman films, although I can't say I've been absolutely knocked out by any of them..... but still, I go and see them! I'm looking forward to Heath's performance however. He really is supposed to do a blinding turn in it and I'm very much looking forward to him, if nothing else. I might be seeing it tonight.
^^ I feel a bit sad talking about him in the past. He was only a young man, with so much more to give in both life and his acting performances, and yes, as some of us have said, he's no doubt feeling very proud of himself out there somewhere, but it's just a shame he didn't get to spend a bit longer over this side to bring some more happiness to fans, and more importantly, get a shot at a longer and happier life. It's very sad.

mine starts at 8 too!!, although i'm not sure if they show adverts at IMAX, last time i saw a film there it was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom:o....I was still in nappies of course;)!!!
When the credits started to roll there is a dedication to Heath Ledger, and everyone in the audience started clapping...and deservedly so.
As I said over there, that's what I was hoping people would do, but even just reading that I've welled up. I am sooo going to lose the plot at that point tonight, couldn't say that over on the movie thread though. Snotfest here we come FFF!
This evening will be like this...:D:cool lol
I wondered that with IMAX too. I'm sure they will. That'll mean we're watching it at the same time - that's what I was hoping for.
Just saw this on the movie thread after you quoted it FFF...

I so agree...I thought if i posted that on the movie thread someone would have a go at me:o, I have my tissues in my handbag all ready....Luckily i'm going with an understanding friend who'll give me a hug if I snot up the place:o
Oh man, those gloves look like something you'd find in your grannies bottom drawer. £325!
Absolutely Hay and I echo Soulmates words too...what a wonderful actor he was and what a wonderful man this world lost. I bet he's still up to mischief upstairs and still doing everything at 100mph - on the skateboard lol.

Most definitely Rose. Hope you & FFF are enjoying the film hugely! I'm off to catch up on some much-needed zz's & replenish my much depleted braincells. Catch you all at some point tomorrow. x
Just got home and had to post, Girlies...and gents, our boy done good:D, mind blowing, funny, shocking, crazy....it's impossible to put into words how wonderful i thought it was. The audience clapped when the film finished, and most waited to see the dedication the Heath and clapped again...i had a very good friend with me who sat and waited for me to compose myself and wipe the snot and mascara off my chin at the end....i swore I wasnt going to cry.....never mind.
If you are in two minds weather or not to see the film I URGE you to see it, and if you can, see it at the imax, the audience were literally gasping at some of the scenes.
Fave Heath/joker bits
the magic trick with the pencil made my buttocks pucker, the joker eating shrimp at the fancy party, Heath does some fantastic stuff with this face in this, and the joker, dressed as the nusre, walking away from the hospital...those white hairy legs and socks, so funny

Cheers for that hun. I hope Rose didn't get too upset too {{{FFF & RR}}}.
Can't wait to see it! Will be probably mid week next week tho - I don't mind spoilers tho:)
i wasnt a massive heath ledger fan before TDK but oh my god he has literally raised the bar on acting in general, best performance i think i've ever seen and i'm not saying that loosely, if the guy don't get the oscar win let alone a nomination there isn't any justice in world! we've lost a massive, massive talent, can't praise him enough.

Trivia fact : The Jokers gloves are infact designer, They cost £325 for the pair and were made by Alexander McQueen. Nice.
Really reminds you what a great actor we lost & that its a wonderful tribute to Heath
Lots and lots of praise for him in all the papers today
