That's a very jolly noise for a medical alarm.

For any of those concerned about the alarm you can download it as a ringtone straight after the show

Jean played a part in Janine's distress. There's no denying that. She was heavily-pregnant and Jean was, in her own words, "putting pressure" on her.

The order of blame is as follows:

    Michael -> Jean.

Michael knew he was lying, knew what he was doing to Jean and knew one conversation could have stopped all the stress dead in it's tracks but he continued the lies, even when he saw what it was doing to Janine.

    As was Michael.

Yeah of course. I'm not excusing that, but I can't excuse Jean either.

Aww lovely Janine and Diane scene talking about Pat. One of the saddest things these last couple of episodes has been seeing how much Janine really did love Pat and has deeply missed her being around for things like her wedding and the birth of her baby despite all their fights etc. :(

    Agreed.

    Good follow-up episode.

Though them mentioning 'Nosy Pat' made me think moreover of 'Nosy Dot'!

Shame we'll never get to see what words of wisdom she'd be giving Janine right now. :(

So Michael's just upped and left at the first [or, ok, second] sign of trouble now?:confused:

Alfie getting all romantic with a bit of Adele on the CD.

In bed with Kat wouldn't have Rolling In The Deep been more appropriate?

    lolz :D

    Enjoyed tonight's episode.

Would of been better if there was no Kat/Alfie/Anthony/Tyler/Ricky though

    Exactly.

Amazing episode again but that baby freaked me out. It looked so real.

I thought that was a lovely scene where Diane told Janine that Pat is too nosey to stay away, I said exactly the same thing to my cousin a few days ago about our nan who passed away a couple of months ago.

It's these realistic little moments that made ee what it was, but they seemed to vanish. I am glad they seem to be making a comeback.

Would him opening the incubator which let in oxygen cause a risk to the baby?

Michael has problems loving people and opening himself up emotionally. He probably feels the baby will die eventually (like his mum died) and he would rather walk away than watch it happen. He probably thinks it's inevitable and he can't handle it. So he shuts down, typical Michael style, and walks away.

    i was thinking that too...

don't even get me started on the dramatic licence they've taken with NICU...a baby on its own in a room on a ventilator, random relatives strolling in and out, a huge amount of breast milk for the first time expressing, the lack of any noise let alone the multiple alarms...

I thought it too. I can never really read Michael as you never know what his intentions are. Its very difficult to understand him sometimes but I am not sure if he would kill his own daughter.

I think the fact he walked off at the end was down to the fact he knows it was all his fault which suggests he didn't do anything to stop her breathing.

The Junior Nurse in the beginning said 'Don't be afraid to touch her' to Michael.

If there was an issue with too much oxygen getting in I think it would've been raised there, no?

No it was fake baby...real NICU babies of that gestation have much skinnier limbs & aren't so pink & well looking...
