Will My Pussy Return?
I've recently taken ownership of my friends kitty. She's been moved 20 miles from the countryside-esqe village to my terrace house. We kept her in for 4 days and then the other night she climbed out the 1st floor bedroom window and down the lower roof and then onto the wall and ground. This was Tuesday night. We noticed she'd got out early Wednesday morning and we spotted her laying in some grass in the garden across from ours. We tried to entice her with some food and 'silly human kitty sounds' but she then made her way down a few more gardens. We've called her, left some of her covers outside so she can get her scent but we can't entice her back. She had food, warm bed and hugs so why wouldn't she return? If she comes back would she make her way back up to the 1st floor window as we hadn't got round to letting her out on ground level yet. Should I be really worried yet or could she be looking for a boyfriend. I was thinking of putting missing leaflets through everyone's door if she's not back by Monday.

I'm sure she'll come back soon, maybe she isn't used to you yet and wants to get back to her original owner.
Yes she's neutered.
If she got out the way she did, she probably can't work out how to get back in the house as she's never done it before.
You've done all the right things, they say getting their fur out of the hoover and spreading that around so it smells of her is another good idea.
Can you leave the door open, and keep going out and calling her from there, so she works out where your voice is coming from and hopefully works out how to get back in the house.
Hope she comes home soon
Explain the situ to your neighbour, get into their garden and try and retrieve pussy that way.
Good luck and I hope she is home soon.
Even though I posted 'missing' posters through everyone's doors a few days ago I spotted Maya walking down my next doors garden this morning after a brief encounter with their cat. Before I could get downstairs she'd disappeared between some sheds. Hoping she comes back later tonight I'll be calling her. So she did return 9 days after her escape.
Otherwise, I would speak to Cats' Protection or the RSPCA see if they can lend you a cat trap so that you can catch her and keep her in the house until she's well habituated to you and your home.
She's unlikely to make her way back up to a first floor window but if you leave ground floor doors open (while you are at home, obviously) she may choose to wander in.
While you keep her in, train her to come to you for treats - Dreamies or whatever. Only use them as treats and get her to come to you (in the house) by calling or I clink a piece of cutlery against a china plate as I call as the sound carries and they come rushing back (usually) for their goodie.
Only if they already know what they are. Mine wouldn't respond to a packet being shaken because that's not how I've trained them.
