Well done Stripy! I haven't played yet since coming back from my holidays, it's been too nice outside to justify sitting in front of the telly! I did get the Tesla Claw before I went so hopefully that will help me with that pesky Chairman Drek. Got no chance of buying the RYNO lol.

Got a copy for my birthday and finally platinumed the first game last night.
Took 2 and a half playthroughs mind
(those 1 million bolts take a while to grind out if you are OCD like me and need to get the platinum)

Still love the game as much as I did when I played it on the ps2 - and so on to number 2 . . .

Managed to defeat Drek today after turning the air blue for a while!

Just wondering, what benefit is there to playing through more than once? I've got all the gold bolts but not the skill points, but what more is there to do? And what do you mean by platinum?

Thanks! Haha I'm still sitting in front of the tv, even in this glorious weather.
I'm trying to get the bolts to buy the RYNO, I'm on about 65, 000 on my second plathrough. Seems to be taking forever! And I'm back on that dratted water course thingy, argh.

Well done! I'm well jealous. I'm only on 33% of the trophies. I've gone back to an old save to get the skill points trophies. I do believe I'm not going to get the platinum on this game, if for nothing else but the Twisty MacMarx one. Gulps.

If you complete the game and get all the skill points you get a 'Platinum' trophy for your PS3. Nothing extra, just a sort of badge of honour for completing everything in the game. You are not really missing out by not getting it, unless you are an 'Obsessive Compulsive' person like me who has to complete everything

I know what you mean Twisty took me absolutely bloody ages to do, then I realised that
Spoiler

makes it a little easier. Hope this helps (in spoilers incase anyone want to try for themselves first )

I really want to get all the trophies for my own personal satisfaction, but I don't think I will.

Ooh thanks! Going to try that tonight!

I'm so close to getting the other hoverboard trophy - the one where you have to get a time of less than 1:35. I got 1:35:03. I screamed. I have since got 1:35+ times several attempts later, and I cry with anguish every time lol.

I think it was Number 2, there is a bit in a kind of space station, and you have to "hack" the door and the screen zooms in to the electrical panel than kind of crashes. It does this every time and it is quite linear so I can't move on until I get to that point. I looked it up and there was others having the same issue, and I couldn't find a game save beyond this point that would work.

It doesn't matter much now anyway as I had to get a new PS3 last Christmas as the old one finally stopped reading discs correctly. So even if I could get past that point I still need the HD collection

What with being banished upstairs with the olympics taking over the main TV, think I may have the second game platinumed by the end of the week (sooner if not for that pesky work thing)

Did you play the PS2 versions? if you finished them 100% with all the skill points on the PS2 you can do it on the PS3 - most of the trophys are skill points

Good luck! If you need any other hints I'm around here most days. Played the games to completion many times over on the PS2. This trilogy (and the Jak & Daxter Trilogy) on the PS2 were the games that brought me back into gaming after many years away. Very addictive & so happy to have the chance to play them again

Ah, I never encountered that problem.
But that is a great excuse to get the HD collection!

Yes I did play the PS2 versions, but I didn't really think about doing the skill points, if I got them, it was by accident lol.

I did the Speedy trophy at last last night, I'm happy to say. twisty McMarx still eludes me, despite your much appreciated advice. I've got 44% now.
Thanks for offering to be my R&C mentor. Appreciate it!

Thats the second one finished and platinumed

Just the third one to go before the new Uncharted 3 Trophies take over most of my spare time

Even had time to watch enough olympics to see all 3 of our gold medals being won yesterday - Well done team GeeBee
