How long will my goose keep in the fridge?

I bought a chilled goose from lidl last fri and want to cook it for xmas. Its still in the fridge in its packaging since i bought it on fri. I dont really want to freeze it. will it be safe by thursday?

    What does the packaging say?
    If in doubt use your nose.

    Seriously, some of the questions asked on DS are just ridiculous.

    Look at the packaging, there will be a Use By date on it.

    I would remove the packaging OP as it's less likely to go bad if it's in a drier state and any packaging will keep it moist. You could cook it and then freeze or refrigerate it and reheat on the day that will extend the length of time you can keep it a little.

    Doesn't hurt to try and teach next generation of cooks I always think, we all started some where and DS is a good a place as any to ask I would imagine.

    It's not safe.

    Cook it tomorrow and cut it up then in the freezer.
