Online liars are possibly worse than liars in the real world. At least with a co-worker/friend/relative you have the option of telling them that you know they are bullshitting.
Online, you never know if the person posting is genuine and sometimes it's heartless to assume every person is fabricating whatever piffle they are spinning, whether it's illness, wealth, high profile job etc etc
