So both Jedward and Lucie ended up going to Eurovision after that sing off.

Danni Minogue's 3rd X Factor act to go as well

she was head and shoulders above the rest but what a lame selection of songs and such a cheap, trashy national final, relying on clips from the archives and a panel, 2 of which needed sedating (at least).

I predict 21st... with a bit of luck and lots of jury love.

Can we now just give this to ITV or Channel 4? The BBC are clueless.

The success of this song will depend on where it is in the running order, and of course, what sort of song the other countries pick. Standing out owes a lot to good fortune.

At least with Lucie, she's got substantial experience of singing live, and as part of a big tv production, so won't bottle it, or be overly distracted by the technical side of things. She should get a decent level of respect from the other countries' broadcasters, with a solid back-story and something for their media to write about. And she's pretty, let's not pretend that isn't important.

We haven't got the full list of songs yet but at least we can be sure of one thing. Lucie will deliver on the vocals which should fair well when it comes to the jury vote.
For sure, if people vote fairly as well, which I'm sure they will.

The BBC just need to keep the staging simple. No crappy dancers doing a love dance in the background. I would just have Lucie on the stage alone and just work on decent lighting.

This song was co written by the 2013 Eurovision winner though

Looks like we'll be floating around the bottom again.

They'll have a drummer, flashing lights and Engelbert slut dropping. BBC are awful when it comes to staging.

We need dry ice, Lucie starting the song off sitting on the ground, something dark and emotional

Great job by Lucie. I remember her face when Cowel choose To save Jedward despite forever slating them.

Nice result and with the right staging we could do well.
Never watched x factor ever again after this very episode.

People kept saying to me x factor was a fix and an entertaining show. They are not looking for the best singer. And this proved it.

I am absolutely over the moon she is through. I even voted. Can't remember last time I voted on a tv show.

100% deserved.

Interesting, I didn't know she'd been on TXF - she was undoubtedly the best singer tonight, I wasn't at all keen on the song though.

I was disappointed with the choice. The lyrics were too samey. There was too much shoutyness in the third and last songs. The tune of song 5 was terrible. I wanted Freedom Hearts to win, but Lucie was my second preference.

We won't win. Lucie is a good singer but the song is boring and other countries will surely enter something that is much better as usual.

Is it? Very few winners have been. One might almost think it was actually a disadvantage.

Irrelevant... They will vote for each other as usual. That is what stops us from winning.

Countries voting for each other is literally the point of the contest
