Craig Charles replacing Jason Bradbury and Georgie Barrat replacing Amy Williams

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/news/a8...get-show-host/

This is interesting ..

Returning with a new look, the upcoming series will air its 12-episode run from a studio based in Birmingham, with each instalment filmed just days before broadcast to keep it as up-to-date as possible.

As part of his latest presenting gig, Craig will be delivering a regular monologue on the hottest tech stories of the week.
Sounds like they're going back to how it all started.

Surely they could've found a way to film it in Jaywick - "Gadget Show On Benefits: How can you afford the latest tech if you're a dole-scrounger?"

Don't know her but fair enough, with Craig Charles it sounds like he'll be doing a bit of a monologue (which is of course what he actually started out his career doing) that they'll drop into the show rather than being 'on the sofa' as it were. I don't really rate his tech opinion/knowledge any higher than anyone else's, but I guess we'll see.

It'll be interesting to see if it's markedly different. I know Bradbury was somewhat of a lightning rod of sorts for people, but Craig can be quite personable i suppose.

He's got extensive experience on radio as well so I guess the presenting aspect of it won't be too much of a problem.

Can't say i was a big fan of Jason but it did not stop me watching. Well recording and fast forwarding 75% of it.

Amy never fitted in on the show for me.

He decided to move on apparently. I doubt he'd ever be fired.

I like Craig, I remember him back in the 80s as a poet.
I think he'll be a good addition to the show but the gadget show without Jason is like The Beatles without John Lennon.................just not right

I thought she fitted in very well. Rachel Riley I don't think fitted in very well but she was decent. I was in the minority of those that was glad when Suzi left. Was never keen on her, even less so when she started fronting my beloved Formula 1 on the Beeb

I bet my 2tb sky misses this like the return of the walking dead would have to keep an eye in the listings and on FB to see when it starts.

I completely agree. He may not have been everyone’s favourite, but Jason was The Gadget Show. It’ll be very weird watching it without him. At least there’s still Jon Bentley.

I just can’t see Jason choosing to leave. Maybe he ‘decided to move on’ before he was shown the door. Time will tell – if he turns up with a new, bigger, presenting job we’ll know it really was his decision.

Anyone know when the new series starts?

Friday 10th March I believe.

I think a fresh start is what the show needs and Craig Charles is a very good signing. I also like the sound of the new features, and recording it closer to transmission can only help its chances of getting back on track.

In any case the figures were so low for the last series with Jason that things can only improve you'd hope! But if he was such a fantastic presenter and so important to the show's success the question has to be asked why the show was struggling so badly with him at the helm?

I would have thought he'd have been the first out in an attempted relaunch- I like his stuff, but he doesn't really fit in with the 'trendies' (Neither did Jason, but he was at least trying) and isn't crusty enough to be a James May sort.
