Hello,
This maybe a very odd postings. But I am sure someone will know the answer?
I am after the presenter line-up of the London station from March 1996 and found out the following
Saturday
2.0am unknown
6.0am Mike Carson
10.0am unknown
2.0pm Martin Buchannon
7.0pm David Allen
Sunday
Midnight unknown
6.0am Mike Carson
10.0am Jonathan Izzard
2.0pm unknown
7.0pm David Allen
Midnight
Monday - Friday
Midnight/2.0am unknown ? Barney Burham
6.0am David Hamilton
10.0am Jonathan Izzard
2.0pm Tony Myatt
6.0pm Peter Marshall
10.0pm David Gilbee
Each night they seem to have played an hour of showtime music and an hour of classical music between 8.0pm and 10.0pm each night.
Does anyone know the line-up from this time and perhaps they could fill-in the gaps and make any corrections - please
Thanks,
Iain

The line-up's broadly right, late nights - like all the other slots - were four hours, so Dave Gillbee was on 10pm-2am weeknights.
Shame you don't hear Mike Carson on the radio anymore - think he got the push for Russell Pockett on weekend breakfast, again, when Emap bought Melody out.
I remember Melody Showtime every evening at 20.00.
Anybody remember the presenter line up when it launched in 1990?
Wasn't the man who is now best known for his X Factor VoiceOver work Peter Dickson on air in the early days?
Yes, and before that on R1 and R2, and was also a C4 continuity announcer. I think he started at Radio City in 1974 ?
It was a little I suppose, but without any 'clutter'. For instance the presenters read the news on the hour, there was not opting into IRN audio. There were no jingles either.

I'm sure Peter Marshall, then a Thames continuity announcer was one of the presenters on it in the early days
I used to enjoy Melody Showtime - featuring music from the musicals, every evening at 20.00 when I was in London. They also had a classical hour at 21.00 every evening too.
Sadly living in Southampton meant I could only listen to Melody when I was working/staying in London.
Can anybody remember the full weekday and weekend presenter lineup from the launch in 1990?
