Looks like the BBC are following ITV's reality diving show with a reality show this time getting celebs to train to be gymnasts.

Celebrities are to bend over backwards to impress viewers after BBC bosses ordered a new Saturday night series in which they will train to be gymnasts.

Can work if they don't take it seriously like Splash did.

Only problem is that like Splash, the skills involved are extremely hard to learn in such a short time frame, so the overall quality will not be top draw.

At least the performance will last more than the few seconds that a dive does.

Yeah. Splash's biggest problem (of the many it had) was trying to create over an hour of television around less than 15 seconds of actual action.

It looks to me that the BBC themselves, have "bent over backwards" in their efforts to find yet another crap programme involving so-called celebrities.

They deserve a medal for it.

I'll definitely be giving it a miss.

When this was being mentioned a few weeks ago on a thread in the Strictly forum, I was hoping that it would never see the light of day, that it was a pilot that would be dropped. I kinda hoped that with Jay Hunt out of the way, such celebrity-driven barrel-scraping would be consigned to history.

But sadly, someone seems to think that it is a perfect fit for BBC one on a Saturday.

    Monkey Tennis anyone?

So who’s going to host? I’d put a little bet on Chris Evans.

I'd guess Matt Baker as was junior British gymnast and sports acrobatics champion and has commentated for the BBC on gymnastics in the past. Will feature Beth Tweddle now doubt.

    And Louis Smith apparently.

Yep, the BBC should allow ITV to carry on doing that (they do it so well too ;)).

Like trying to tie jelly with dental floss.

At no other time in history has it ever been easier for the mildly famous to earn a bloody good living from titting about.

If it does end being a replacement in the schedule for Let's Dance for Whatever... then it'd almost make sense to reuse Alex Jones in the presenting team too.

I'd say a presenting lineup of Matt Baker (as the person with the technical background in the sport) and Alex Jones (for the fluffy contestant chat), with Louis Smith & Beth Tweddle (both of whom worked with Matt on World Gymnastic coverage) as mentors / judges would work

I'd add and the completely talentless to that.
