When I spoke to Lindsay a few weeks ago he told me that the trial was totally oversubscribed and that they hadn't realised it had been published on several forums (I told him a couple he wasn't aware of)

They do seem to be honouring their commitments to those who applied before the trial was removed from the beta page (it went a couple of weeks ago now)

The powerline plugs seem to work relly well.... I had mine in the desired configuration during initial setup (so that I was trying out the instructions as requested) but have now got mine as follows:

    HH->Wireless Router->Powerline->4-Way Extension->Internal Wiring->4-Way Extension->Powerline->VBox

It all works lovely like that

Once we get the V2 powerline adapters then I can remove the 2 4-way extensions.

Well after all the problems with HDNL on friday i phoned and emailed BT and they told me that they are going to send out another box (this time through parcelforce) and that i should get it today before 1pm, this morning i received a call from HDNL apologising for the mix up and they are also going to deliver the box today as well, so it looks like i will be getting 2 boxes, will see how the set up goes before deceiding which box to send back

Somebody in our village had Bt Vision installed, but BT were reluctant to run a cable through their old cottage so ended up installing using homeplugs. They're are pleased with them, they work well.

He just said they'd set one up with the same details as my phoneline/broadband. If you choose any chargeable content, they take the money through DD.

I went for the 3rd as I usually shirk from home on a Friday, and I don't want to wait in on the 1st for HDN to not turn up... And the nearest depot is in the middle of Lincoln, which is a bit of a trek. I only registered for the trial last week.

my box turned up on tuesday afternoon, it was fairly easy to set up, however i have had to ditch the powerline adapters and move the hub into the living room, but apart from that it works well, have had no problems so far

nothing wrong with the adapters, my sockets are quite low down and there isnt any room for the ethernet cable once its plugged in

Could you not have put an extension lead into the wall socket and then plugged the adaptor into the extension lead?

Had BT vision activated on my line since 17 july but did not install Vision as I was suffering from poor down load speeds. Sync at 8313 but download 1989 never above 2000. Helpdesk was having nothing of it said there was no fault.

However this morning I was planning carrying out the Vision self install but wanted to get the speed sorted first.

So out of interest i connected my Voyager 2500v and hey presto the download speeds instantly shot up to 5300 and above. sync at 8313. Played with this for about an hour and speeds never dropped below 5300.

Now for the accid test reconnect my BT H Hub and great the speeds stayed good sync at 8313 and download speeds of 5300 and above.

Now for the install of Vision. This went smoothly with no hitch. Very impressed. about an hour in all of waiting for the system to update and etc.

Tride video on demand and yes as advertised the internet speeds drops to about 500 but still sync at 8313.

Six mins ago just stopped a VOD check my line speeds back up to 5300. Fantastic.

If this carries on I will be well pleased.

So much for the help desk saying your computer must have a virus or you have got spyware. Nothing of the sort the line just needed a cick.

Not everyone has got other equipment to try to unfortuntly you have to try and convince the help desk that your IP profile is stuck or capped or whatever.

If things go wrong Ill get back to you all and let you know

I've just finished installing my box and powerline adapters I received today as part of the self-install trial and all working fine at the moment.

Vod - I watched the film preview and that was fine which surprised me a little, as my 8-meg line which I upgraded to facilitate the trial stuck on 2-meg profile when the home hub crashed and rebooted. Was getting 6.5 meg before the crash too :(

Quick question, does the trial allow for any 'test' vod rentals or are we straight into pay-per-view? Not a biggie for me, but the missus will no doubt insist on knowing whether I am spending any money!

I've not come across any "free" VoD stuff, other than the brief one-minute or so previews.

There is a freebie but you have to dig deep,

Go into the specialist section and in there somewhere youll find at the bottom of the list (which includes learn guitar etc) A free "Learn Yoga" or something similar with GMTV's Penny Smith.

A great option to test without taking up a sub too see how it performs.

Really, can only see the £0.99p version by Penny.
