So if the government says you should all pay a 99% tax we should abide by it?

We would have to, that does not mean we could not fight against it, although it would be a very stupid government that would introduce it

paying tax should be avoided by any legal means.

give generously to charity, by all means, but it is best directed to recipients of your own choice, rather than someone elses.

    Wrong

    this.

He's not breaking the law though.

If you're "scrounging" and not working, then you would hardly be affected by it. It's easy to criticise others in a very different position to yourself.

That is what so good you can use the law to pay less tax, and still be legal.

Nobody has a moral duty to pay anymore tax than they should. People are better at spending money than a government is.

No! These pigs we call the Government have enough money! Just scroungers. It's all about the gold and the cash, it makes the world go round. They manipulate for their own benefit. Imagine if you owned an island and people wanted to come to live there, you could act democratic and pretend they are the same as you, people believe it as some are thick and easily brainwashed. Look at fuel prices. You can get a gallon of petrol in the USA for just over a pound, and in this country it will cost you around 6.

You cannot buy a gallon of petrol in America for a pound. It's around £3. That's for a US gallon which is 3.78 litres. A British Gallon is 4.5litres. Still it's cheaper than ours.

Do you pay more tax than you should? Do you get to the end of the tax year and bung the inland revenue a cheque for £100 - just to do your moral duty?

Or do you do what most people do - and pay simply what is required.
