I simply don't believe that 1024x1024 figure. Plasma's tend to have a 16 to 9 aspect ratio so if it's 1024 pixels high then it will be 1,820 pixels wide.

If it's got the "HD ready" sticker then it should do both 720p and 1080i

I've just checked the model number on a couple of other sites, and they all said 1024x1024 resolution too - but that cannot be the case without it looking hideous, which it won't be because the rest of the specs look quite good.

There's no way it'll be 16:9 and 1024x1024 resolution. It's probably 1820x1024, as mentioned above.

It will be an Alis panel which has a 1024*1024 resolution and a 16:9 ratio screen, plenty of HD panels out there (mostly Hitachi). The technology is different from the standard Plasmas which is why the resolution sounds strange, do a search for ALIS and you'll be reassured.

It won't be 1820 x 1024 as there isn't any Plasma glass that res.

Don't always assume square pixels! Jarrak beat me to it! I couldn't remember the name of the technology but it is Alis.
