I wouldn't completely disagree with you but the live stuff is mainly input by other musicians on this record and 'Digital Love' is clearly a sampled track with a strong influence of Supertramp in the 'solo' parts.
.
I've got no arguement with that, there's a certain skill in arranging samples. Okay's it's not on the same level as playing Paganin's 24th Caprice but I felt that poster was being a little disingenious to say they're just randomly tapping buttons
I think the solo for Digital love was originally recorded on a roland midi guitar, pretty technical playing too (again..it's not Jason Becker, but it's still hard to learn for amateurs).
arrived in from work and low and behold....Random Access Memories ARRIVED!!!!! yayayaa!!!!
And man i am beyond impressed with it, i mean i had high hopes and expectations....but man this has been BLOWN! I mean its not the fact that it is REAL Dance music being represented here...it is ART....i mean some of the lyrical content, and the neon explosions...it really feels like you have entered a universe....not since Madonnas Confessions On A Dance Floor has there been a massive mainstream Dance album that takes you there! genuinely....and the run time is what? 75 minutes and not one moment do you feel "man this is a drag" there is so much going on...but man this for me is my album of the summer sorted and potentially wil become album of 2013...i am beyond impressed here...well done to The Bots!
Man.....so much to take in too....will definitely replay and replay and replay

I agree, Josh. Sometimes I get bored with the really long tracks some electronic music artists do, but their tracks are interesting with a lot going on as you say not just repeating the same loop like some dj/EDM types.

Thanks yeah, i mean the 9 min, 8 min songs there really seem to fly by, so much going on yet its a natural progression...i love that.
