Can't decide between a Hudl 2 or a Kindle Fire! Has anyone also looked at either of these or already have them?

lovely present for a child, and not a bad price
My 2 1/2 year old has my old iPad. Its a very good educational tool, and my partner is a Primary School teacher before you start
perhaps im old fashioned but i could think of many other things to buy a 4 yr old as a xmas present
Yes you are old fashioned. An iPad (this is the best option for kids due to apps) can be
1) a wonderful educational tool which through careful use by the parents can teach your child letters, numbers, shapes, songs. Its helped my little one immesurably and is used a reward for when he is good.
2) A tool used by parents to shut kids up and keep them occupied because you cant be bothered to play with them.
It depends on the parents. Like many other things in a childs life, if the parents can be bothered the child will grow
I'd second that!
Just make sure you get it insured as you know how clumsy kids are and add some sort of block so they can't run up a huge bill buying things on games etc.
Good Luck
The apps are cheap, often free, and if you pay for one on one account, the games will load simultaneously to linked tablets, so no squabbling over who gets the disc or catridge. No double outlay for games in other words.
I would recommend getting a Griffin type ballistic case for them, so they can take a bit of a battering without getting damaged.
PS - Mine are currently addicted to playing "Simple Plane" which asks the players to build an aeroplane from scratch and then try to fly it. You have all the parts needed, you just have to design everything yourself. They absolutely love it. Fun and educational.
Tablets are great present for children. We live in a technological age. Your kids being able to access that technology is a benefit of their birth date, not a hindrance.
Oh well .....
Just don't link your credit card to it and there is no way of nasty surprises , plenty of free stuff to do
Shocked...???
My 4 year old has asked for a spell book from Santa - you would not believe how difficult it is to find this, wish she had asked for a tablet, would be easier to find 😁
The two are not mutually exclusive. And, of course, you can download and read books on tablets.
"there luddites"?!
I'm a technology geek myself but I'm not sure that I would be buying a tablet for a 4 year old if I had one.
It was almost impossible to put parental controls on it
so now he's seen hard core porn. this does not make me happy.
