The new opening credits are supposed to include elements from all the old opening credits, so old credits are unlikely.
If they do a multi-Doctor story, K-9 is like any other companion, largely unimportant unless they're actually relevant to the plot. Even with multiple episodes, there needs to be time to focus on the story and the different doctors, not harking back to every single person/thing to ever travel in the Tardis
Master, Daleks and Cybermen in one story could get messy
Companion wise, only Rose,Martha,Donna and Captain Jack would be likely to return.
Daleks a certainty to be in special, maybe Davros as well.
Neither Billy nor JB have been invited back as of yet, so who knows about previous companions. As for former Doctors, I think just Tennant coming back would be the biggest mistake Moffat could possibly make.
Rose Tyler is not a official relative but likely married the Human Doctor.
None of this is offical I just put down what will likely will happen. I just listed the alive Companions both in real life and on the show. Like I said we don't know at this point who will be in the show.
Sara Kingdom is not an alive character. She died at the end of "The Dalek Masterplan". If by alive characters, you meant that the actors who played those characters are alive, then yes, Jean Marsh, who played Sara Kingdom is still alive, although quite elderly now.
Archived images/clips of One, Two, Three as well as Sarah Jane and the Brigadier.
Susan and/or Ian
Jamie
Jo, Benton and Yates
Four/Leela/K9 and/or Romana
Five/Tegan
Six/Peri
Seven/Ace
Eight/Lucie and/or Charley
Nine/Rose/Jack
Ten/Martha/Donna
Eleven/Clara/River
Mention any absent companion if needs be.
Sorry I didn’t know I haven’t watch the first and second doctor ep.

They will write something that is as accessible to a seven year old with no knowledge of the classic series as it is to a 37 year old long term fan such as myself. The titles and the new tardis illustrate the approach I believe they will take. Great if you get the references and great if you don't.
And you've still forgotten Jamie McCrimmon and Zoe for the early classic period.
No I haven't. Because it is unlikely to have people who have had their memories erased. To the Doctor they are dead.
We will likely to see multi Doctors because it has in the past anniversary ep. Why change tradition. The same goes for having past companions. This is why I see having more than one episode. The past anniversaries did have more than one ep. I also see it being more than 60 min. long.
As I haven't much faith in him, I will hope for the best, but expect the worst. After the Christmas special, my enthusiasm for Doctor Who has risen. However, I will reserve judgement for when the BBC graciously decides to show the rest of series seven. If they take too long in showing it, many people may not be bothered about Doctor Who at all.
This would please every one. One ep. with muti Doctor the other with out.
Didn't stop Jamie appearing in The Two Doctors did it?
Or either of them having cameos in the Five Doctors.
Couldn't agree more.
I was previously ok with the idea of Tennant returning but the more I think about it the less keen I am- could be a disastrous move, like inviting your ex-wife to a wedding.
Nice to read some sense. Plenty of deaf ears and brittle imaginations on here though.
There's no way that anyone with such strong ideas is going to come away as anything less than disappointed. I can't help feeling it would be better to not to go into the anniversary with any preconceptions of what they 'should do', 'need to do', or 'would like to see them do'.
If they don't reference K-9, or the Sixth Doctor's coat, or Omega, I won't feel cheated - we have enough DVDs and books to be able to visit those any time we like.
same even with russell and john n turner , dr who is entertainment not hamlet , ok i like good scripts and meaningful nods to unit etc but only if it means something in the bigger series
i say all the drs go to a ssppace bar and the laanddlord says "time gentleeemen please " yeah maaybe not but at least dt will be apt
aax somethingg is better than nowt
