Hello.

It doesn't look as if we'll have much of a Radio Academy left in 2014, after announcements made recently: http://media.info/radio/news/radio-academys-future-unclear

I was at the AGM and got a blow-by-blow account of what happened. It was quite fiery: http://media.info/radio/news/radio-academy-agm-as-it-happened

The comments are worth a read, too...

    Was Victoria Derbyshire there ?

The only time I heard of this organisation was when they gave out back slapping awards and in particular, they loved giving VD an annual award for something or other. What for ,I'm not quite sure ?

I doubt whether the RA will be missed that much by many.

Us 'anoraks' on here (people who care about good radio in other words) are often told by those that know better, that "we moan about details that target listeners don't care about" I doubt most Heart or Capital listeners have heard of the RA and care even less about its demise. I'm only surprised Sony sponsored it for so long.
