  The plot has always sounded like a Norman Wisdom movie.

  David Jason does physical comedy quite well for a 71 year old!

  This is like the Pink Panther film that was never made, as large bits of The Royal Bodyguard has already (10 mins in)cribbed several of the PP films. eg the checking and fighting the suit of armour (Pink Panther Strikes Again) checking under the bed and showing ID cards of dubious veracity (A Shot in the Dark and other PP films) .
  
  Are we supposed to believe that septuagenarian character is the Queen's Bodyguard? And what's with the hairdye?
  
  It also has shades of Frank Drebbin in The Naked Gun, who gets tipped off about a threat to assassinate the Queen. That was REALLY funny though and Leslie Nielsen didn't use Grecian 2000.

  As a huge fan of Only Fools and Horses, I was looking forward to this, but have given up already.
  
  It's utter tripe. The slapstick humour seems to be aimed at children and morons.

  It does look a bit slapstick and I'm only watching it because my friend's girlfriend Julie is in it
  and David Jason falls through the ceiling and lands on her when she's in bed!!! :eek:
