No picture on TV on downloaded iPlayer

I am having great problems trying to watch a downloaded recorded BBC iPlayer prog on the TV.
If I download live i Player prog. it is ok on the TV but if I download to the Download manager and then try and watch on TV it just gives a dark red screen on the iPlayer screen on the TV. Sound is ok using computer speakers.
I am using Svideo cable. the tv is a 32 inch series 5 Samsung. Anyone got any ideas please.
Everything is fine on the computer monitor.
