Was wandering around a book shop today and Impossible came on the loudspeakers... Found myself singing along to every word.... its definitely my all time favourite X-factor winning song.

    Special!!!! Really?

Compared to a lot of the 3rd rate singers around at the moment maybe.

Against some of the singers in the past - not really. Compared to someone of Luther Vandross' quality - I'm sorry, but I regard him as an also ran!!!!

As you are into Katie B, would you compare her to Patti Labelle? Please stop acting like your taste in music is superior to everybody elses on here. Have you just discovered Luther?:p

Sorry to disappoint you but have appreciated his voice since he sang with Change in 1980 and have a number of his records including the LP by Change as well. Give them a whirl and you will understand why I think James Arthur comes in a distant second.

I liked Katie B's recent single but am not necessarily into her other stuff and I think Patti Labelle is a better singer - although Katy B has a decent voice.

This song has a life of it's own...it's still doing incredibly well internationally
It's now reached top 10 in Spain, Belgium, Portugal and Germany aswell...it's also picking up pace in France.

Its due to the depressed state of the world economy. A song with a dreary voice drearily singing 'Impossibull-le-le' is likely to do very well. And it has.

Not surprised, things are looking up for James, really looking forward to his own music.

Is it just UK sales that are being donated to charity or international sales too? Cowell must be raging to be missing out on this goldmine if so.

International sales go to the charity as well, although the people buying it in the other countries aren't exactly buying it for the charity.

I think global success is what Sony are going for with James. He will be the 2nd solo act from the show to have global success no doubt.
They are taking their time with the album, it has to be right, he has Simon's backing which is always a good thing.

i think what makes james click with his audience is-- twitter spats aside-- the glimpse of that sensitive singer deep down... :)

also compelling is giving an accomplished performance whilst not forgetting the raw nerve deep in his gut where the angst comes from-- amazing!!:D:cool:
